Cudgen Connection unashamedly leverages off the new neighbouring Tweed Valley Hospital. The New South Wales government’s investment in this significant piece of infrastructure is an example of government’s laying the foundation for private investment to occur, with flow-on to employment, health, education, taxation and the community.
Cudgen Connection proudly partners with several local charities and not-for-profit groups which do amazing work in fields that include mental health, suicide prevention, youth affairs, business incubation and the arts.
Community hub
A core initiative of the concept is a central community hub, a proposed 2 level communal building within the precinct of approx 1000 sq meters for use by local groups.
Within this building will be housed head-office facilities and ongoing support for these local groups.
Koala research
The Koala Research Foundation Australia https://krfau.org/ (KRFAU) is an initiative of Cudgen Connection partner Digital Infratech, established to help fund an ongoing important chlamydia research and vaccination program.
A Centre of Excellence in Koala Research will be established within the proposed Cudgen Connection Community hub.
